This contest has an unusual feature -- photo retouching is allowed. You must describe the retouching that was done, and it will be included in small print with the photo.
Here are some examples of what might be entered. These pics are from my private photo album, some of famous specials, some of unknown local dogs. All are champions, as is appropriate for the cover of a National catalog. No, I won't be entering any pics myself since I am running the contest. Conflict of interest and all that jazz.
![]() Retouches; cherry trees moved closer to dog, leash removed from picture, hind legs placed in stacked position |
Retouches; background darkened to remove its clutter, flowers and placard moved closer to dog |
![]() Retouches; color saturation on hat and feather increased Note: this photo was taken for our "Bonnie for President" campaign at the 2004 National -- and then I couldn't attend. :-( |
![]() Retouches; head and ruff cut out of snapshot, extensive work to make colorful background, extensive work on the edges of the lower ruff to soften the cut edge. |
So, what if you've got this absolutely great picture but there's just this little thing wrong with it, and you wouldn't know Photoshop if it shook your hand? Either Jeannine or I will do minor Photoshop magic for you on request. That off hind leg in a forward position instead of parallel to the other one? Photo is just too dark, or your skin looks like a melon? We can fix it easy.
